My Marketing Experiment is in the Steam Next Fest!
Read Time: 1 minute
I created a Game for a Marketing Experiment
If you remember, some time ago I created Escape Floor Zero with two goals:
First, Many people fear not being able to create games unless they know C++, so I wanted to showcase that it’s possible to create and release a game using only Blueprints.
Second, I wanted to have a simple game to try to learn how to properly market a game and what works vs what does not.
Today, Escape Floor Zero is participating in the Steam Next Fest.
Wishlist Data
Next Fest has just started, but as you can see the impact it has on Wishlists is real:

As the game itself is quite simple, the amount of Sishlists it gathers is not that much, but both the Demo and Next Fest seem to be really important events for gathering Wishlists for your game.
Currently the game has 1,711 Wishlists in case that information is useful to you.
If you want to learn a little bit more about the game you can also read about it here:
Some Thoughts
Marketing a game can be hard, my expertise is Game Development, not marketing.
This is why I wanted to do a small experiment with minimal marketing to learn a little bit.
What I have seen is that contacting Youtubers / Streamers helps a lot in sustaining the game momentum and then big events like the Demo launch day and Steam events like Next Fest can really help your game get noticed.
I hope this information can be helpful to you if you plan to release a game on your own.
As always if you have any doubt don't hesitate to contact me, see you in the future.
